or you! La Champeta is a dance originating from the Atlantic/Caribbean coast of Colombia with influences of African origin. Having arrived in the country in the years 60 and 70, this kind of music and dance is becoming a mainstream. This dance has become popular throughout Colombia. The champeta has very rhythmic movements, accentuated at the hips and knees. The champeta can be danced alone or as a couple. This is a very joyful Caribbean dance for all ages.
