How to define the Cumbia ?

The cumbia is a traditional dance of Colombia, it is one of the most representative dances of the country. She has three origins (African, Indian and European). There are two styles of Cumbia: traditional Cumbia dance that especially in Colombia, and modern dance Cumbia that in several Latin American countries such as Argentina, Chile or Mexico. It is an elegant dance, easy to dance, man woman guide, there are a few tricks that look like salsa and Porro. Dance the cumbia is to imagine our history through drums, guazas, the bagpipes, flutes, Fire, magic, spirituality and circularity surrounding the life, the idea to finish and never end.

The traditional cumbia is synonymous with speed, elegance, subtlety of movement. The woman walking like she was on the clouds, very quiet. The man made jumps, flirts, seduces … The living room of cumbia has its origins in the traditional cumbia, it’s basically a couple dance where the man and woman bind.
